As soon as you pull into the parking lot the smell will pull you in! Best pizza on the island for sure. Some of the best pizza I've had period actually. The view from the balcony is quality. The staff is friendly. Great selection of pizza flavors. The wait was a little long because the owner was donating 70 pizzas for the local high school team. It was no problem for us, because we were just enjoying the pacific view. But the owner wouldn't take no for an answer. He insisted on giving us a free dessert. My wife raved about the strawberry ice cream and the snickers cheesecake I had was superb. Patz Pies is a real gem. Don't pass it up!

My girlfriend and I came in right at sundown on the recommendation of our snorkeling guide. The inside was a bit full and it was obvious that the staff was dealing with a small rush. Even so, they wiped down a table out on the deck and we were seated. We ordered one of their speciality pizzas (white pizza, add sausage to half) and a caesar salad. The salad arrived first, and was huge, easily enough for an entire meal by oneself. The croutons are made in house along with the dressing and both were delicious. The pizza itself showed up a few minutes later and I must say, I was quite surprised to find such delicious pizza in Hawaii (no offense HI, but I never considered you a pizza powerhouse). I'm originally from the east coast and ever since moving west haven't found a decent pizza but Patz Pies is EASILY on par with anything I've had in the east. The crust alone is worth eating plain, it's that good. While we were eating, the owner stopped by and we mentioned this and you could see the pride in his face. He's a super nice guy, and I can't even hold the fact that he's a Niners fan against him. He mentioned that all of the ingredients (except the olives) are locally grown, and that he bought the business 8 months ago primarily for the crust recipe. I think that was a great decision, and with this crust he could make this pizza work anywhere in the country. The only downside to this place is that currently they can't have beer and wine out on the deck. I can understand why, there's apartments above, but I hope they get a solution rigged up.

Good food. Bad service. Seated outside--waited 15 minutes, no one. Went in to ask for a server, were told they were coming out, 15 minutes later--no one. Went in and ordered with the hostess. Food came out, and was good. No one came out to check on us our entire meal. When we finally went inside to ask for our bill, they didn't even know who we were. Cashier/server tells us, "you sat at the table that everyone forgets about." Ordering TO GO from now on.

My husband and I came here just to try something different. So happy we did. We got some sort of chicken pizza and it tasted so fresh and wouldn't change anything about it. Also got the cheesy garlic bread with I think homemade marinara sauce which was also fresh tasting and just wonder. Was overall very happy with everything

Super Friendly people, good beer and wine selection and open Late (for the Island that is). Our Calzone was delish and the fresh green salad (from the area farmers said the owner) sure tasted like it!

I had a fantastic meal here last week! Their margherita pizza was amazing. I also had their house salad, which had the best homemade balsamic dressing. The salad was a fabulous choice with tons of fresh, organic veggies.

One of the best pizzas on the big island. Pizza tastes great the only thing is it's one size one price for it. $25. I wish there was a couple size options but it's cool I can live with great taste and no size options as opposed to great size options and no taste. Funny experience also with the waitress. I ask her how are the pies and she says "they're from Costco, but they're good." I told her that's good that you're honest and she says "well what am I suppose to say, they make them and a bakery near by?" I thought nah you can say we make them here, I wouldn't know lol.

Family of four enjoyed all the pizzas here. Excellent crust and tasty toppings on all of them. We came early and was the first ones there. But soon it was almost full inside. Very friendly and nice waitresses. Highly recommended for great pizza.

Great pizza at a great price! Pizza was delicious, salad was different but really tasty! Our large meal plus two beers cost us 23$. Can't beat that! And we had leftover pizza!! There was a nice ocean view off the back deck. We would go back to eat in a heart beat!! We highly recommend!!

Didn't have the pizza.....next time! Husband had lasagne, he loved it and there was plenty. I had a wonderful salad with organic greens, sun dried tomatoes, feta, etc. plus wings. Very good and the service was the best. We had to take our little dog with us because they were spraying our place. We were going to sit at a table outside in the front but the server told us there was a nice patio on the rear. It was a rainy, overcast evening but still nice sitting out there. Would be a beautiful view on a clear night. She brought water for our puppy and was very attentive!! We will definitely return.

I've come here every time I've visited the Big Island since 2004 and have previously found the food to be excellent. It looks like there's new management, and the service has taken a nose dive (on a Wednesday night!) and the food quality's not much better. Almost everyone had to go up and ask for silverware and one of the employees was yelling about the payment system not working. Food was barely warm and zero attention from staff after they delivered the food (we were, at that point, the only customers left). Inexcusable. This is my first negative review ever on Yelp--management, get it together and bring this place back to its former greatness! A few additional thoughts: - The crust is really well done. Obviously fresh dough and hand spun. - An idea: change the format so that people order at the counter, and drinks are self-service. I've seen a number of pizza places work like this in Austin and it helps with peaks and valleys of demand from a waitstaff perspective.

Our experience was amazing!!!! Where do I begin? The best hospitality I have ever received in any dining experience. I was here in hawaii for business with 5 ladies. Everything was delicious: island style & supreme pizza, garlic cheese bread with "Sicilian gravy" tasted fresh & homemade; the green salad also tasted fresh & came with homemade dressings like blue cheese; the lilikoi cheesecake was the best I have ever eaten. The owner, Angelo, sets the bar in having a restaurant with delicious & locally grown ingredients along with treating his customers with so much aloha. I would highly recommend it, & we are certainly coming back.

Patz pies is the best!!! I had the white chicken pizza with the organic house salad and it was sensational. I highly recommend this place and be sure to check out the chicken wings! I come here for the lunch specials all the time and I love the personal pizzas instead of a slice. They offer a few different options for the lunch special and they are all amazing- I highly recommend coming for lunch!

Quick and friendly service. Fresh draft Kona Brewing Co beer at a good price. Delicious pizza. I would definitely recommend the BBQ chicken pie.

Good food, reasonably priced for high-end pizza, quiet. We had a 1/2 Margherita & 1/2 Island Style pizza, both were good.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
